McMaster appoints FCHS senior to statewide council

WINNSBORO — Fairfield Central High School senior Zanadia Shai Perkins has been appointed to the Governor’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Council.

Gov. Henry McMaster selected Perkins to serve as a Youth Member on the council. In this statewide role, she will represent the voices and perspectives of young people throughout South Carolina.

The advisory council is a federally mandated state advisory group responsible for recommending improvements to the state’s juvenile justice system and advising the Governor and General Assembly on child welfare and delinquency prevention.

The Fairfield County School District recognized Perkins for the achievement, noting that the appointment reflects her leadership, character, and commitment to her community.
