Bengals compete at Best of Best

Blythewood High School’s Bengal Battalion JROTC drill team claimed the overall unarmed championship at the annual Best of the Best competition on March 7.

Competing against more than 20 teams in Winston-Salem, the Bengals secured top honors in both color guard and unarmed platoon formation, while the unarmed exhibition and inspection units both earned third-place finishes. In individual competition, Command Sgt. Maj. David Ekechukwu won the armed knockout elimination game.

The Best of the Best competition is one of the premier events for JROTC drill teams in the region, testing precision, discipline, and calculated movement.
